As a teen, you’re self-conscious about many things, but your smile shouldn’t be one of them. If you take good care of your oral health, then you’ll be on the right track toward the top-notch smile you deserve. To help you keep your oral health in tip-top shape, our Love Family Dentistry dental team encourages you to do the following things:

Keep up on oral hygiene: Oral hygiene is vital for your oral health. So, please remember to brush your teeth twice a day, floss your smile once a day, and rinse your mouth daily. It’s also important to visit Dr. Peggy Lovecchio every six months for a routine cleaning and exam. All of these tasks can help you have the stunning and healthy smile you deserve.

Think about your wisdom teeth: Oftentimes wisdom teeth cause more harm than good. So, talk to your dentist about the status of your wisdom teeth. If they are causing trouble in your mouth, it’s time to consider removing them. This is a big step for teens who want a strong and successful oral health.

Consider orthodontic treatment: Having a crooked smile can be troublesome and embarrassing. It can also be dangerous for your overall oral health. So, if you have misaligned teeth, consider aligning them with braces or another type of orthodontic appliance. This can help you have an attractive smile for a lifetime.

Avoid tobacco products: Even though tobacco use might seem cool, it’s not, especially for your smile and overall health. If you use tobacco, your chances of falling victim to cancer increase and you can also suffer an extremely unattractive and discolored smile. So, it’s best to just avoid tobacco products altogether.
